SEE A SICK OR DEAD WILD BIRD? DON'T TOUCH IT. REPORT IT. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFO

We are still seeing injured wild birds at this time but please give us a call before you bring them to the clinic. Once here, stay in your car and call us so that we can then triage it. Any sick wild birds please do not move them from their location and call MPI.

If you have your own birds that are sick or injured please call our clinic to make an appointment. Please stay in your car and call us to inform us of your arrival and we will have a vet come out to you to triage them.

HPAI H5N1 (H5 high pathogenicity avian influenza) has a low human health risk, however it can be spread to those working closely with sick birds. Dogs and cats can also contract the disease so it is a good idea to limit exposure to sick wild birds where possible.

If you come across any groups of sick or dead birds, please keep your distance and report them to MPI's Exotic Pet and Disease Hotline on 0800 80 99 66. Keep up to date on the latest information by checking MPI's website

Dairy

Our team of large animal veterinarians provide routine and emergency services to farms in the North Taranaki area from Midhurst to Mokau, covering the Inglewood, Waitara and New Plymouth districts. Whilst dairy farming plays a major part of our daily work schedules we also provide veterinary services to sheep and beef farms, calf rearers, lifestyle blocks and deer, goat and alpaca farmers.

Modern dairy farming requires services that can provide up-to-date knowledge and technologies. Tasks need to be done efficiently, safely, economically and sustainably. Our team has a vast range of experience in Taranaki conditions and local knowledge. We are dedicated to providing the best animal health solutions for our client’s needs. We are also dedicated to maintaining a balance of experienced staff and newer graduates who will make sure our practice is sustainable in the future. We also employ a small team of large animal technicians who are trained to carry out activities such as vaccinating, bolus application, disbudding, teat sealing and the like.

We are a contract practice so members of either the North Taranaki Vet Services or Inglewood Vet Group receive a discounted member’s visit fee.
